PRN business development team grows by two savvy professionals

Customer service is essential to the success of PRN Ambulance and has been from the start. In addition to the personal touch provided by crew members in the field, the business development team is an invaluable asset to PRN and the healthcare facilities we serve. Bob Buslik and Edward Opulencia recently joined the BD team as Account Executives, each arriving with more than a decade of experience serving the healthcare industry in various roles. Bob’s professional healthcare experience began with roles in healthcare information systems and continued when he transitioned to the ambulance market in 2011. Bob has helped optimize operations and strategic account management in highly competitive markets, excelling as a specialist in business development. Most recently, Bob served as Vice President of Business Devlopment for MedResponse, Inc. after spending four years as Director of Business Development and Public Relations for Elite Ambulance, which was his first ambulance industry role. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from Trinity University and an Associate of Arts in Health Science and Administration from California State University, Northridge. Edward got his start in the healthcare community as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Alamitos Belmont Rehabilitation Hospital and has since stayed on the healthcare and EMS path. He joined Pacific Ambulance in 2005 and spent seven years fulfilling numerous roles including EMT and Operations Supervisor. Additionally, Edward has spent time in Admission and Marketing for Crystal Cove Care Center, Business Development Manager at Lifeline Ambulance, and Emergency Care Technician at Garden Grove Hospital Medical Center, among other roles. In addition to his numerous medical certifications, Edward has a Bachelor of Science in...

Alicia Foggmen, Bradford Adkins promoted to Station Manager roles

PRN Ambulance has strengthened its operational leadership in the field with the dual promotions of Alicia Foggmen and Bradford Adkins to Station Manager roles in Carson and Glendale, respectively. Alicia rises to the managerial role from a number of years in the PRN ComCenter while Bradford has served most recently as a PRN EMT. Each has a bounty of EMS experience. Alicia is an EMS veteran of more than 10 years who found a home in PRN when she joined the company as a Call Taker in 2010. She eventually earned promotions to Lead Dispatcher and Communications Training Officer, where she trained potential ComCenter candidates and other communication personnel. An avowed patient advocate, Alicia was driven to help those in need after witnessing the tragic death of a family member; she knew she wanted to be a paramedic from that moment forward. Soon after receiving her EMT certification in 2005, Alicia began working in Arizona’s 911 system. She experienced both rural and urban EMS, responding with lights and sirens to calls so rural that her crew would be the only resource available systemwide to respond to many patient emergencies. Alicia gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience by completing a paramedic certification program in 2008 while still in Arizona. Upon returning to Southern California, she continued in the EMS field as a Field Training Officer throughout Los Angeles County. A more recent addition to the PRN team, Bradford has a wealth of EMS experience. He joined PRN in January 2016 as an EMT, bringing 27 years of EMS know-how along with him. Bradford has held numerous managerial positions in EMS in which...

Burbank youth group receives special visit from PRN Ambulance

The latest in PRN Ambulance’s community outreach efforts took place on Sunday when EMT Robert Houston visited a youth group at CityLight Baptist Church in Burbank. Many thanks go to Robert for being every bit the exemplary representative of PRN and EMS for which he is known as well as the many smiling faces at CityLight!...

New monitors, bags streamline paramedic mobility at PRN

PRN Ambulance features a thriving advanced life support division with paramedics providing top notch care to patients and unrivaled customer service to hospitals. These EMS professionals play an increasingly important role in the growth of PRN as it expands outside of Los Angeles County, and now their ability to respond with as much quickness and efficiency as possible has been aided by a pair of improvements in the form of an updated paramedic bag and new defibrillator/monitors. Through its paramedic bag pilot program, the PRN Training Department has streamlined the way its ALS teams carry essential gear and supplies. The program has resulted in a one-bag system that replaces what previously required three bags. With just one bag to worry about, PRN paramedics can respond quicker than ever and provide care with no time wasted. The new paramedic bag setup will be introduced during mandatory paramedic meetings next week during which paramedics will familiarize themselves with the improved system. Additionally, PRN is adding a number of Physio-Control LIFEPAK® 12 defibrillator/monitors for use on its ALS and CCT ambulances, with online training already released to crew members. The cutting edge LIFEPAK 12® features a display more than twice the size of our current monitors. It has an advanced ECG algorithm, built-in pulse oximetry, waveform capnography, automatic non-invasive blood pressure measurement, and the ability to simultaneously view up to three user-selectable waveforms (ECG leads, sPO2, or ETCO2). The LIFEPAK 12® also offers increased run time and reliability in the field due to battery improvements. PRN is excited to offer its EMS professionals the tools that allow them to offer efficient, high quality patient...

PRN Ambulance implements new EMS physical preparedness test

By Ted Milano Risk & Safety Manager PRN Ambulance is introducing a new EMS Physical Preparedness Test (EMS PPT). The goal is to increase crew and patient safety by testing applicant physical abilities before they are hired. It will consist of several physical events designed to imitate certain standard EMS field duties. Moving forward, the EMS PPT will be administered to all prospective crew members as part of the overall selection process. Existing PRN field employees will not be required to take the EMS PPT. However, we invite you to voluntarily participate and offer feedback, if you’re interested. We want to keep our team members and patients as safe as possible, preventing on-the-job injuries and accidents common to our profession while also encouraging healthy lifestyle habits on and off the clock. We believe this unique addition to our selection process will set the EMS provider bar even higher as PRN continues to grow throughout Southern California. Physical fitness training advice is always available to PRN employees in areas of diet, exercise, body composition and proper lifting technique. In addition to being the company’s Risk & Safety Manager, I’m also a nationally certified Personal Fitness Trainer, specializing in public safety physical education. You can contact me at tmilano@prnambulance.com or 818.810.3662 if you need help in any of these...
